Medical doctor, academic, businesswoman and activist Dr Mamphela Ramphele unveiled her “party political platform” at the Women’s Gaol, at Constitutional Hill, in Johannesburg, on February 18. There was some initial uncertainty over what had in fact been launched, but it appears that the initial focus will be the collection of a million signatures to call for electoral reform, which Ramphele argued should be the first order of business of the post-2014-election Parliament. The platform would be built under the banner Agang South Africa, which means ‘Build South Africa’.
