Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordon and Transnet board chairperson Popo Molefe have expressed their sadness at the passing of Transnet director Advocate Oupa Motaung.

He joined the board in May 2018.

Transnet said that, together with the rest of the board, he played a critical role in ensuring stability at the entity, while establishing a robust platform  to improve both governance and performance.

He passed away on September 28 at the age of 50, at the hospital where he was admitted eight weeks before.

He is survived by his wife and four children.
