These parts of Tshwane could be without water due to upgrades

Residents in parts of Pretoria could be left without water while Rand Water carries out upgrades to bulk water meters that supply water to three reservoirs on Thursday and next week.

On Thursday, Rand Water is planning a 12-hour water shutdown from 08:00 to 20:00 to enable it to replace and upgrade the bulk water meter that supplies the Erasmia and Valhalla reservoirs.

Arrangements will be made to fill the reservoirs beforehand.

The following areas may be affected:

  • Christoburg;
  • Erasmia (all extensions);
  • Erasmia 350-JR;
  • Glen Lauriston (all extensions);
  • Hoekplaats 384-JR;
  • Lekker Hoekie 411-JR;
  • Lekker Hoekie 450-JR;
  • Monrick AH;
  • Mooiplaats 355-JR;
  • Pretoria Town and Townlands 351-JR;
  • Sunderland Ridge Ext 25;
  • Valhalla; and
  • Zwartkop 356-JR.

Meanwhile, residents in parts of Pretoria East may experience water issues when Rand Water upgrades the bulk water meter that supplies the Boardwalk Meander reservoir next week.

A shutdown during the upgrade is expected to run for eight hours, from 18:00 on 28 March until 02:00 on 29 March.

Although arrangements will be made to fill the reservoir beforehand, the following areas may be affected:

  • Boardwalk (all extensions);
  • Boardwalk Meander (all extensions);
  • Boardwalk Villas (all extensions);
  • Bronberg (all extensions);
  • Faerie Glen (all extensions); and
  • Olympus.
