Global fleet and mobile asset management solutions provider MiX Telematics launched and demonstrated its latest telematics innovations at the IAA Commercial Vehicles Show, which took place in Hannover, Germany, from September 25 to October 2.

“Telematics and connectivity were key focus areas at last year’s IAA trade show, which came as no surprise as operators are becoming increasingly reliant on proven systems that boost efficiency and safety levels.

“As a business, we remain mindful of this and are committed to continue partnering with fleet owners in Europe and other regions worldwide to help them achieve significant benefits that are sustainable, such as increased efficiency, reduced risks and safer operations,” says MiX Telematics COO Charles Tasker.

Innovations launched and previewed at MiX Telematics’ IAA stand included the latest version of the company’s video recording system, MiX Vision; a new, rugged in-cab MiX Rovi display; and an hours-of-service (HOS) and remote tachograph data download solution for Europe.

The company also previewed MiX Mobitech, a flexible field services application designed to help businesses become more efficient.

MiX Telematics’ HOS and remote tachograph data download solution is a comprehensive electronic toolkit, which enables the efficient monitoring of drivers’ working hours in real time and the automatic calculation of remaining driving times, according to European law. The solution is built on MiX Telematics’ new software platform and provides a fully integrated driving hours and fleet management solution.

MiX Vision has been enhanced to incorporate audio and infrared features. Further, more information and higher-quality footage mean fleet managers can make more informed decisions about incidents that involve their drivers. MiX Vision videos can now also be viewed alongside a timeline within MiX Fleet Manager, which provides fleet owners with a richer context for incident scenarios.

The latest addition to the MiX Rovi solution is a rugged in-cab terminal, designed specifically for demanding work environments.
