Two days after announcing an improvement to the system after several generating units returned to service at the weekend, Eskom has now announced that Stage 4 load shedding will return on Wednesday afternoon.

This was after eight generating units broke down since Tuesday evening.

Stage 4 will start at 16:00 and will last until 05:00 on Thursday.

"Thereafter, Stage 3 load shedding will be implemented from 05:00 until 16:00."

Eskom said it would provide further details later.
