The microgrid, the biggest in Gold Fields’ portfolio, will comprise 42 MW of wind power and 35 MW of solar power, and will provide 73% of the St Ives mine’s energy requirements.

The project will reduce the mine’s Scope 1 and 2 emissions by an estimated 50% in 2030 against the mine’s 2016 baseline.
