Energy management and automation multinational Schneider Electric has appointed Devan Pillay as its Anglophone Africa cluster president.

He succeeds Albert Fuchet.

Pillay rejoined Schneider Electric in 2020 as Schneider Electric Buildings VP, and has a a wealth of experience that includes senior positions at State-owned power utility Eskom, General Electric, 3M and Schneider Electric from 1998 to 2003, as well as former Signify Africa president.

“Under Pillay, Schneider Electric’s Anglophone Africa business will undoubtedly continue to flourish, building on the firm foundation set by Fuchet, which has led the company to profitable and sustainable growth during his successful tenure,” says Schneider Electric Middle East and Africa president Caspar Hertzberg.

“On behalf of Schneider Electric, I would like to extend my sincere and deep gratitude to Albert for his transformational and firm leadership.  Devan is a strong business leader that is no stranger to Schneider Electric and will build on the positive impact that Albert has had on the company,” he says.
