The first phase of Tsogo Sun’s R640-million refurbishment and expansion of the Gold Reef City complex is nearing completion. CEO Marcel von Aulock reports that the aim of the upgrade is to make the complex, which houses one of Gauteng’s casinos, more family orientated, in line with what the company has done at Montecasino and Sun Coast. The second phase of construction will involve Tsogo Sun changing the nature of the Gold Reef City theme park, with additional rides and improvements to the mining and apartheid museums.
