Range of tube pumps expands
A new peristaltic tube pump has been developed for industrial applications, specifically for users who require a simpler pump design with no local controls, or a pump that does not require an external air supply.
Peristaltic pumps feature a low-shear working principle that produces less foaming than other pump technologies, improving delivered product quality and lowering reject rates. Additionally, the pump head has a higher flow per revolution than other comparable peristaltic pumps and, with less tube compressions for a given pumped liquid volume, produces a longer tube life.
The Rapide 5000 peristaltic pump was designed by Verder Liquids, part of The Verder Group, and aims to offer simple, reliable and cost-effective pumping solutions for industrial applications. The company explains that the new design combines the flexibility of its Vantage 5000 pump head with the simplicity of a single- or three-phase powered industrial gearmotor.
The Verderflex Rapide 5000 pump can be used as a standalone single or double head pump or integrated into a system. This lubricant-free peristaltic pump can run dry without pump damage as a result of its dry priming and viscous product pumping capabilities. The pump is particularly suited to dose and transfer abrasive and corrosive liquids such as chemical additives, inks, paints and off gassing liquids.
The Verder Group comprises two divisions, Verder Liquids and Verder Scientific, specialising in products and services for both fluid handling and laboratories. The Verder Liquids division comprises in-house Verder pumps, systems and services distributed worldwide. Verder Pumps SA supplies pumps throughout South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa.
