Hydarulics components suppliers Hytec, Hytec Fluid Technology (HFT), Hydraulic & Automation Warehouse (HAW), Hytec Services Africa and Hytec Engineering – all part of hydraulic components supplier Hytec Group – collaborated at Electra Mining Africa 2016 to showcase their range of products and solutions for the hydraulics industry.

HAW showcased original-equipment manufacturers (OEMs) Salami’s and OMT’s product ranges at the exhibition, which was held in Johannesburg from September 12 to 16. Salami’s range includes gear pumps and motors, load sensing valves and manual control valves, while OMT’s range of hydraulic accessories includes bell housings, drive couplings and level gauges. These new hydraulic offerings complement HAW’s extensive range of products and accessories for mobile hydraulic machines, which were also on display.
Hytec Group’s hydraulic fluid specialist, HFT, displayed customised service kits, as well as hydraulic specialist Hy-Pro’s bulk diesel filtration test rig – coalescing and separating technology that removes water and dirt from diesel. A range of hydraulic filtration products and fluid cooling systems was also exhibited.

In addition to the latest hydraulic systems and components, and advanced pump and motor refurbishment capabilities, Hytec displayed a hydrostatic drive unit. The unit, equipped with hose connections, demonstrated its various control functions for all mobile applications.
Hytec Engineering also displayed its cylinder repair ‘before and after’ units and a range of newly manufactured cylinders for mobile machines.

Steel Tubing Ideal for High Pressure Hydraulic Applications
Hydraulic components distributor HAW has also added a new range of seamless steel tubing to its extensive stock of hydraulic line tubing from alloy tubes and pipes manufacturer Salzgitter Mannesmann. This tubing is ideal for all high-pressure hydraulic applications.

“The CR-6 free (chrome 6 free)steel tubing complements our existing range of steel tubing, as it offers superior corrosion protection and is environment friendly,” says HAW Johannesburg branch manager Werner Joubert.

He adds that Salzgitter Mannesmann’s high-performance passivating process provides CR-6 free coating with substantially improved resistance to white rust. Moreover, no painting of the tubing is required and no changes to assembly procedures are required.

CR-6 free hydraulic line tubing can be installed faster than alternatives, as it does not require preheating prior to welding. In addition, the tubing can be bent or shaped without flaking of the plated surface. The CR-6 free range is available in sizes ranging from 6 mm to 42 mm and in lengths of up to 6 m.
