Established in 2006, Gauteng-based RamPiping Systems supplies, fabricates and installs high-density polyethylene (HDPE) carbon steel, stainless steel and a new imported glass-reinforced epoxy (GRE) piping for all applications, with customers in South Africa and beyond the country’s borders.

The 35-employee company’s premises, at 131 Struben street, in Alrode South, east of Johannesburg, include 600 m2 of office space and a 1 000 m2 workshop, which is equipped with three thermoplastic bending ovens and more than 15 thermoplastic welding machines, ranging from 75 mm to 1 200 mm units. The company’s fixed assets are worth R8.5-million.

RamPiping supplies, manufactures and installs HDPE products and fittings sourced from reputable South African companies, as well as imported fibreglass pipes and fittings from a company based in the USA.

RamPiping’s GRE pipes can handle up to 98% sulphuric acids, low pressures of 37 bar, high pressures that go up to 275 bar, and temperatures of up to 121 °C. GRE piping is lightweight, corrosion- and erosion-free, and is easy to install.

While the company is not International Organisation for Standardisation - (ISO-) accredited, its owner, who is a quality auditor, ensures that ISO 9001:2010 quality management system guidelines are adhered to.

Further, RamPiping has also been contracted to supply pipes worth R2.7-milion to gold exploration and development company Roxgold, and has been contracted to complete an R18-million order for the Kisenda and Liberty mines, in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The company’s yearly turnover last year was R25-million.
