Local developer, manufacturer and distributor Strike Technologies believes the key to success lies in attracting, retaining and developing top quality personnel, which in turn aids in the production of high quality products and services.

“Our low staff turnover pays tribute to the fact that we truly care for our people and look after them well,” the company says in a statement.

Skills development is a key philosophy in Strike Technologies’ effort to be a preferred employer. It has established several schemes to upskill the company’s employees, as well as support further education. It’s also introduced a variety of learnerships for power electronics and manufacturing, among others. The aim is to assist young workers to become professional artisans.

Additionally, the most recent audit confirmed the company status as a level 4 contributor per the Broad-based Black Economic Empowerment  Codes of Good Practice.

Strike Technologies’ factory in Centurion is run with qualified and specialised employees to ensure that any products leaving the factory are of high quality.

To ensure this, Strike Technologies not only develops its own products but also manufactures and conducts in-house testing. Moreover, the company ensures ongoing quality control and manufacturing to international standards, as the factory is ISO 9001 accredited.

The company’s research and development team ensures continued competitiveness in an ever-evolving market. Strike Technologies re-engineers its products at regular intervals to ensure world class standards are maintained for its global customer base.

The 33-year-old company focuses on equipment that provides protection of capital assets and human life from anomalies and abnormalities in electrical power systems. About 35% of Strike Technologies’ products are exported to a growing list of countries on all continents, making the company globally competitive.

The company is well established in the mining, utilities, industrial, healthcare and rail market sectors, with its product offering split into four main categories, namely medium voltage protection relays; surge suppressors; industrial earth fault protection; and energy and demand metering.

Products

The company’s range of medium voltage protection relays provide protection for capacitor filter banks and feeder protection, which it states is the preferred choice of parastatals, original-equipment manufacturers and end-users.

The latest model medium voltage protection relay, the RLC500, has undergone stringent testing and is certified by energy consultancy company Kema Laboratories, in Holland.

The ZORC is a unique high frequency transient over voltage surge suppressor for the protection of motors, transformers, generators and filter banks from steep wavefront, short rise-time, high magnitude, spikes, surges and other transient voltages, generated by switching and other sources.

The protective characteristics of the ZORC provide comprehensive insulation coordination with both the International Council on Large Electric Systems and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers motor impulse voltage withstand characteristics at all practical surge magnitudes and rise times.

Strike Technologies’ core product offering continues to focus on its comprehensive range of low voltage industrial earth fault protection equipment, with the brand EPC – which has been on the market since the 1970s and has is well-known in the industry.

Although Strike Technologies sells directly to the end user, it also has strong connections with consulting engineers and system integrators, with several of these companies specifying its products for their projects.

“Successful partnerships with OEMs has further established our products in a multitude of plants all over the world,” the company claims.

Strike Technologies is wholly-owned by the power electric resistor conglomerate Telema Group.
