Our client is looking for a PV Project Engineer who is analytically inclined, detail-orientated and is excited at the prospect of travelling both nationally and internationally! If you have a good understanding of Homer Pro with solar PV plant design experience, you could be the person our client is looking for!

Additionally, you will have a degree in Electrical Engineering with a PR.Eng. You will also need 3+ years experience working in the South African renewable energy industry – preferably solar. Your ability to create single-line diagrams and proficiency in AutoCAD will assist you when needing to draw up systems specifications, design and layout of PV plants as well as electrical schematics and finish off technical drawings. You will also find yourself responsible for providing technical support for proposal preparation, ensuring accurate technical documentation of PV power plants, conduct on-site verifications of installation and testing’s, and implement system design standards and optimisations. You are someone who has a strong drive and will ensure standards are upheld even when the going gets tough.

Education Requirements

• B.Eng in Electrical Engineering
• Pr.Eng registration or in the process of registering       

Experience Requirements

• 3+ years experience in the South African renewable energy industry – preferably solar
• Previous experience as well as clear understanding of solar PV plant designs
• Proven experience working in a matrix organisation as well as operating and navigating in an international company
• Good understanding of Homer Pro

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include creating system specification, design and layout of South African and EMEA PV plants, finish technical drawing drafts, providing technical support for proposal preparation, ensuring company standards as well as regional standards and regulations are complied with, and conduct on-site verification of installations and testing’s while complying with design, procedures, regulations and standards.
