Pilot the brand

Crushing & screening equipment supplier Pilot Crushtec International has enjoyed an enviable reputation for delivering robust and reliable machinery backed by exceptional levels of service and support. The fact that it has gone out of its way to provide the local and export industries with high-quality branded products has, in fact, led to the recognition of Pilot Crushtec International as a brand with a cast iron reputation in its own right.

The attraction of the brand has seen the formation of several important strategic alliances, the latest and most important being its appointment by Sandvik Construction as regional distributor for the company’s entire range of crushing and screening products

According to Pilot Crushtec International director of sales Graham Kleinhans, this move has added substantial value to the brand.

“At a stroke, it has given both ourselves and our customers access to a greatly enhanced range of products that will deliver our present and future clients substantially improved production capabilities,” he says.

The wisdom of the decision to adopt Sandvik as its flagship supplier was rapidly vindicated as, within a few months, a number of its high-capacity products with a value of R60-million had been sold to local and export customers.

The majority of sales have been made to the mining sector where the continuing quest for large volumes of commodities has unleashed a secondary demand for crushing and screening equipment, capable of processing materials at a rate of up to 1 000 t/h.

“We now have the ability to provide buyers with the products, service and support necessary to process the hard rock typically encountered in the mining of iron-ore and manganese, and heavy duty quarrying. What really sets us apart though, is that our sales engineers have a deep know-ledge of the products and how they will best serve individual customers,” he says.

While the inclusion of Sandvik products represents a significant addition to the Pilot Crushtec International stable, it by no means eclipses an exceptionally powerful range of offerings that have given the brand prominence in a range of applications.

These include mining and mineral extraction, quarrying, cement production, aggregate production, recycling and waste disposal.

Existing strategic alliances include those forged with Austrian recycling expert Rubble Master; TRIO crushing and screening systems designed in the US and built in China; and CDE washing plants produced in Northern Ireland.
It is also important to emphasise that Pilot Crushtec International is a manufacturer and product design specialist of note. Its design and production facilities continually conceive and manufacture products which are either more effective or provide solutions that are not available from other manufacturers.

These include the Twister, TwisterTrac and DoppiaTrac range of static and mobile crushers and the Pilot Modular semi-mobile crushing and screening plants. The availability of these turnkey products has caused a major revolution in the industry as they deliver the productivity of custom-built permanent plants but at a fraction of the cost, with installation within weeks rather than months.

A notable addition to Pilot Crushtec International’s range of locally built products has been the TwisterTrac VS350 vertical shaft impact crusher. The machine has already found a ready acceptance in Australia, with eight products worth more than R30-million sold over the past ten months.

The company has also enjoyed considerable success with the sale of peripheral equipment that is essential to improving operating conditions on site. Mobile generator Tower Lighting systems enable operators to work safely around the clock, while Dust Fighter dust suppression systems are in demand in industries working to improve health and safety.
