With sales exceeding $13.2-billion in fiscal 2014, Parker Hannifin is the world’s leading diversified manufacturer of motion and control technologies, with 875 000 products sold. It supplies precision- engineered solutions to 1 100 markets, of which mobile, transportation, rail, mining and construction play a major role in South Africa.
The Parker Hannifin sales company has been operating in South Africa for about 50 years, providing high-quality services and products for its customers in the Southern African Development Community and local customers, with a network of about 200 distributors and original-equipment manufacturers, including nine ParkerStores, the newest of which will soon open in Secunda, Mpumalanga. Internationally, Parker has 13 000 distribution outlets that provide customers with value-added services.
The ISO9001-certified company employs about 57 500 people in 50 countries, with the South African complement being 80-strong. Parker Hannifin provides the broadest range of products available from a single supplier, supported by experts in eight major technologies locally: hydraulics, pneumatics, electromechanics, filtration, process control, including instrumentation, fluid and gas handling, sealing and shielding, and climate control.
The products include air preparation equipment and dryers; cylinders and actuators; filters, separators and purifiers; fittings; quick couplings; gas separators and generators; hose and fittings; pumps, motors, drives and controllers; manifolds; refrigeration and air conditioning; regulators and flow-control equipment; seals, sensors and O-rings; flanges; and valves.
