A new size has been added to a range of tyres designed for the heaviest of machinery and the most difficult terrain in forestry, earthmoving and road maintenance.

In 2018 Nokian Tyres launched the Nokian Tractor King, designed to combine the strength of an earthmoving tyre with a new kind of lug pattern. In 2019, eight new tyre sizes were added, and the company is now launching the latest addition to its tyre range.

The company explains that when it first introduced its tyre, the design was seen as revolutionary, with a new tread pattern and a fortified carcass. The company states that it is committed to making its Nokian Tractor King tyre available for use in a wide range of machines.

With a load capacity of 320 kPa, the tyre is able to support the use of heavy tractor accessories.

A customer in the logging and forestry industry explains that the tyre provides vehicles with more contact area owing to the wide tread and that the double lug provides more tractive edges. He adds that the tyre is effective in muddy conditions and provides traction and lateral grip on slippery rocks.

The company’s 2018 tyre was first made available in the following seven sizes:

  • 540/65R28
  • 540/70R30
  • 600/65R34
  • 600/70R34
  • 650/65R38
  • 650/75R38
  • 710/75R42.

To make the tyre compatible with a wider range of machinery, the following eight sizes were added in 2019:

  • 500/65R28
  • 600/60R28
  • 540/65R30
  • 600/70R30
  • 620/75R30
  • 600/65R38
  • 650/85R38
  • 710/70R42.

The range of machinery has now been further developed to include the new 650/65R42 tyre size.

The company asserts that it is one of the most sustainable companies in the industry, offering high-quality, safe and ecofriendly tyres for passenger cars, trucks and heavy machinery.
