Babcock has appointed David Vaughan as the new Managing Director - Equipment as of 01 November 2016.  Vaughan was previously Sales Director of the business and has been with Babcock since 2005 when he joined as a regional general manager.

Babcock’s equipment business manages the exclusive distribution and support of leading international equipment brands in southern Africa, including Volvo construction equipment, Terex Trucks, Tadano and Sennebogen cranes, Winget concrete handling equipment and SDLG construction equipment.

“With indications of recovering commodity prices, our customers are positive about the outlook for 2017. We are confident that it will be an exciting year for us,” says Vaughan. “I have a single goal in mind, and that is to focus on customer service. To this end we will be restructuring our regions in the first quarter of 2017 to provide our customers with a quicker turnaround time on service and parts.”

Vaughan has been in the industry since 1979 and has worked extensively in machine sales for various companies before joining Babcock. “I have also worked for the ‘other side’, and understand what customers go through when machines are standing. I am very customer-orientated and am committed to building long-standing relationships with our customers who trust us to deliver.”
