Process control instrumentation and industrial electronics manufacturer Instrotech launched four new Calog advanced controllers for compressors earlier this year.

The new Calog range includes optional features and intuitive interfaces, with scrolling text prompts and up to four setpoints.

The company explains that one of the new controllers, the Calog Quad process controller, is an advanced quad channel process controller with a virtually endless range of possible applications.

Instrotech notes that its features include four process inputs (signal voltage of 0/4 to 20 mA) with optional channel averaging across two, three or four input channels. The company adds that the device supplies 24 V excitation and is ideal for use in conjunction with a transmitter, as it is easy to scale using low and high display values.

The company explains that the Calog Quad resistance temperature detector (RTD) controller, which is an advanced quad channel RTD controller, is ideal for numerous industrial temperature applications. Its features include four RTD inputs (Pt 100 Ω, 385/392/Cn10) with the ability to average the inputs across two, three or four input channels, and use this averaged value for a display source or for setpoint activation with intuitive interface with scrolling text prompts and a choice of either C° or F° display.

Further, Instrotech points out that also in the range is the Calog Quad Thermocouple controller, which features four thermocouple inputs (J/K/N/R/T type) and the ability to average the inputs across two, three or four input channels that use this averaged value for a display source or for setpoint activation. It also has a choice of either C° or F° display.

The fourth new controller – the Calog Counter/Rate Batching controller – is a controller with three independent counters, which is ideal for rate monitoring and batching applications.

The company notes that its features include three independent hardware counters, quadrature (×1, ×2, ×4), negative-positive-negative, positive-negative-positive, transistor-transistor logic sensors and intelligent count modes, where users can choose from a variety of smart formulas to suit the application. Instrotech notes that advanced features for this model are batching, batch count modification, programmable input functions, setpoint latching and startup inhibit.

The company notes that it has been in operation since 1981 and has manufactured and distributed process control instrumentation and specialised systems under the Calog brand to a worldwide market.

“The company offers a wide range of high-quality process control and automation instruments not limited to any one particular technology. “This gives the team at Instrotech the freedom to collaborate with customers to meet their specific industry requirements and deliver solutions that are quick and easy to implement, as well as deliver on the required results,” Instrotech concludes.
