Project Description
The NAH and the redevelopment of the PWH form part of and are the two largest projects under the Hong Kong government’s ten-year Hospital Development Plan. The plan is being undertaken to cope with Hong Kong’s growing and ageing population.

The NAH will have a construction floor area (CFA) of 500 000 m2 and will be the largest hospital in Hong Kong. It includes five buildings, delivering a comprehensive range of acute secondary and tertiary hospital services, with modern service models incorporating advanced technology and facilities. The hospital will feature 2 400 beds, 32 operating theatres and a designated trauma centre, providing accident and emergency, clinical, ambulatory and rehabilitation services. The facilities will also include a community health centre, a helipad and a public waterfront promenade, with link bridges and subways.
