Industrial equipment supplier Goscor Power Products (GPP) – which has been supplying equipment to the agriculture industry for several years – will, for the first time, showcase its comprehensive and affordable product range at the Nampo Harvest Day event, held from May 17 to 20.

“As first-timers at South Africa’s largest agricultural show, our display promises to be a show stopper!” vows GPP MD Mark Bester, adding that the company understands that, in a tough economy, farmers have to think hard before deciding to make a capital purchase and on which brand to buy.

He notes that, while product prices will understandably dictate most purchasing decisions, it should not be at the expense of quality. “We are extremely excited to come to the aid of farmers in facilitating their decision. Our products are remarkably affordable without compromising on quality, performance and reliability.”

Citing the company’s range of Rato fertiliser pumps, he states that GPP’s pumps will last as long as its nearest rivals in this extremely harsh environment, but at half the price. As a result, “farmers can afford to buy two pumps in preparation for next year’s season”.

In terms of firefighting equipment, Bester notes that GPP boasts over 30 years’ experience and offers a variety of options, ranging from high-pressure firefighters suitable for grass fires to medium- and low-pressure firefighters suitable for forestry applications.

Its firefighters have a 620 ℓ low-profile water tank (or step tank) with a low centre of gravity to ensure vehicle stability. The low- and medium- pressure firefighters range from 43.5 psi up to 145 psi. “The flagship, the Subaru firefighter, has been specially designed and engineered to deliver cost savings as well as safety benefits to end-users.”

He says that water stability during transport is vitally important, especially because of the rough terrain in rural and far-flung areas. “The unique designs, such as the step tank, the struts on the tank ceiling and sides, and the baffles on the bottom of the tank interior, all limit water movement.”

Further, the corner struts facilitate the safe and secure tie-down of the unit on the back of the vehicle, while the black tank interior blocks ultraviolet rays to prevent algae build-up, which can block the pump. The large tank lid, about 450 mm in diameter, allows for fast filling and easy cleaning.

Alongside the Subaru firefighter, GPP will showcase, from the well-known and proven Subaru and Lutian stables, electricity- and engine-driven industrial and do-it-yourself (DIY) high-pressure cleaners, as well as petrol and diesel water pumps and generators.

The full range of Subaru welding machines will also be on display. “Not only are we offering special show prices on all the products displayed at our stand but, for the convenience of our customers, these products are immediately available from our newly appointed dealer, Latgro Midas, located in Bothaville,” enthuses Bester.

GPP will also be giving away products to the value of R25 000 in a daily lucky draw. Visitors to the stand will have the chance to win one of three DIY high-pressure cleaners, with the grand prize, a firefighter, up for grabs on the last day of the show – a fitting end to GPP’s first Nampo exhibition.

Alongside GPP, two other companies in Goscor Group, earthmoving equipment supplier Bobcat Equipment and materials handling equipment supplier Goscor Hi-Reach, will also exhibit their agricultural product offerings at stand 56 A – C.
