MTN Nigeria board to get a revamp

Several MTN Nigeria directors have announced their retirement from the board as part of the company’s board evolution.

Chairperson Dr Pascal Dozie and vice-chairperson Colonel (Rtd) Sani Bello, as well as nonexecutive directors Chief Victor Odili, Gbenga Oyebode, Babatunde Folawiyo and Mallam Dasuki will step down on September 2.

“MTN group, as well as the board, would like to express their appreciation to the six directors for their commitment, leadership and extensive contributions to the success of the company since their appointment in 2001 and who have led successfully the listing by introduction on the NSE,” MTN said in a statement on Thursday.

Ernest Ndukwe has been appointed as the chairperson designate of MTN Nigeria.

Effective September 2, Michael Ajukwu and Muhammad Ahmad will assume the roles of independent nonexecutive directors, while Andrew Alli, Omobola Johnson, AB Mahmoud and Ifueko Okauru will join the board as nonexecutive directors.
