Telecommunications group MTN Nigeria has acquired an additional 10 MHz spectrum in the 800 MHz band from Intercellular Nigeria for an undisclosed amount.

This followed the approval by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) of the transaction.

“Through this acquisition, we will be better positioned to support the deepening of broadband penetration in the country. The acquisition will significantly improve customer experience, in line with our commitment to deliver excellent service quality to our subscribers,” said MTN Nigeria CEO Karl Toriola.
