Mintek publishes tender document for rehabilitation of Tweefontein asbestos mine

Mineral and metallurgical company Mintek is seeking to appoint a service provider for the rehabilitation of the Tweefontein asbestos mine, in Limpopo.

The company is, on behalf of the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy, in the process of rehabilitating several abandoned mines around the country.

In an invitation to tender published at the weekend, Mintek noted that prospective bidders could access tender documents from its website.

Only bidders with a Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) category and classification grading 7CE PE or higher will be considered for the project.

A compulsory briefing session and site visit will be held on December 10. 

A compulsory site inspection will also take place after the briefing session.

Prospective bidders will be required to submit their tenders online by 12:00 on January 15, 2021.
