Precision products manufacturer Gast Group, a member of global fluidics manufacturer Idex Corporation, in March launched a new range of JunAir oilless rocking piston- based compressed air systems, the 86/87R Series Systems.

Idex Corporation health and science technologies division European sales director Andre Goodson says the range incorporates several advances that make it operator friendly.

“We set out to dramatically reduce sound, enhance flow, improve aesthetics and create a standard footprint for easy retrofit anywhere in the world. “The new JunAir 86/87R Series Systems will enhance Gast Group’s already extensive range of air-moving solutions and will help create new and exciting opportunities across many different sectors,” he adds.

Goodson states that the JunAir 86/87R Series Systems extends the company’s already impressive range of compressors and features a patented crossover chamber design.

He says its design enables air to decelerate as it enters the cross- over and accelerate as it exits, dampening the sound and optimising performance while delivering a wide range of pressure-level options.

“The result is a system that reduces noise output by over 5 db, compared with previous models. The system also delivers a longer life and greater application flexibility,” elaborates Goodson.

Gast’s range of compressors has been designed for operational durability and is suitable for “virtually any application”, while providing best-in-class reliability, quality and performance.

It has been designed to operate at 8 bar for more than 10 000 hours before maintenance on the piston seal is required. This makes the range ideal for several applications, including analytical instruments, medical systems, food and beverage equipment and graphic art solutions.

Moreover, to provide continuous clean air flow at up to 28 ℓ/m, the JunAir 86/87R Series Systems also benefits from an integrated double- air filtration arrangement, with a 50 m intake filter on the compressor and a 5 m filter regulator for air leaving the tank.

Optional ancillaries are also available to further improve the supply air filtration.

The system is easy to install and ready to use at the point of installation, says Goodson, emphasising that the JunAir 86/87R Series Systems air compressor has been designed with space constraints in mind, making it easily integratable with most applications.

“Open models are fitted with handles, which also help protect the motor from external damage during installation and operation. Cabinet models are equipped with castors for easy and convenient mobility,” he concludes.

About Gast Group
Established in 1921, Gast Group designs and manufactures air-moving products, including vacuum pumps, compressors, air motors, gear motors, vacuum generators and regenerative blowers. The company’s Smart Air technology is used in various challenging applications by original-equipment manufacturers and end-users worldwide.

Gast’s products are mostly used for industrial manufacturing, healthcare laboratories and/or environmental cleanup applications. Its range of solutions are cost effective and suitable for many pneumatic problems.

Gast was acquired by Idex Corporation in 1998. In 2006, Gast acquired JunAir, which provides quiet compressors for laboratories, dental clinics, medical, beverage, graphic and industrial applications.

“As a result, our customers can take advantage of the broad product portfolios of both companies to solve their application requirements from the components level through complete compressor solutions,” states the company.

Gast boasts an international presence, with manufacturing and logistics facilities located regionally in support of its customers.
