One of the many new features is "MakerArt" an innovative project of synergistic pathways between international makers and artists.

It's called Maker Art and it's one of the main new features of the upcoming "Maker Faire Rome - The European Edition" (https://2019.makerfairerome.eu) scheduled to take place in the capital city from 18 to 20 October 2019.

Maker Art is a project that aims to investigate the relationship between contemporary art and new technologies, through the creation of synergistic and integrated pathways between selected international makers and artists.

The aim is to create a genuine exhibition of interactive installations within the event that is able to interact with visitors and offer many different ways of interpreting the culture of technological innovation.

In addition to large installations of artificial intelligence, robotics, sound art, video art, the section will also include "pop up art", referred to as happenings, that can continuously “jolt” the viewer in its path. For the first time in Italy, artists will have the opportunity to collaborate with companies in the technology sector, by forging a real connection between art, science and technological innovation.

There will be artists of international fame such as Bill Vorn, Canadian, a leading authority in Robotic Art with his “Copacabana", a robotic dance performance; Patrick Tresset (France) who uses small robotic arms to make different portraits of the audience; Mattia Casalegno, video artist from Naples by birth but long-term New Yorker, who is the curator of a non-profit exhibition space called Room Service, dedicated to site-specific projects and new media; Cod.Act, an internationally renowned French collective who will bring their πTon, a gigantic sound spiral; and Joaquin Fargas, an internationally renowned Argentinian who integrates art, science and technology in his varied and artistic production. His work is based both on proposals of utopian concepts and on feasible projects on universal themes such as human life, environmental protection, social relations, stimulating with his artistic creations questions and reflections that concern all of us and the world around us.

It will be possible to "experience" all this and more at the next Maker Faire Rome, now in its seventh edition, which will take place at the Fiera di Roma. The most important European event dedicated to technological innovation, with a simple and informal approach, is organised by the Chamber of Commerce of Rome.

The "Maker Faire Rome - The European Edition" enjoys the valuable collaboration of institutional partners such as the ITA (Italian Trade Agency), ICE Agency, an Agency for the promotion abroad and the internationalization of Italian companies. In particular, the Agency's support is part of a broader support offered by the Ministry of Economic Development for initiatives that promote competitiveness and innovation.

On the broad educational front, Maker Faire has also been able to count on the consolidated multi-annual collaboration with the Ministry of Education, University and Research (Miur) to conduct a Call for Schools and Universities and the Educational Day, that is attended by thousands of students accompanied by their teachers.

Among the institutional partners, this year also includes Lazio Region that, together with Maker Faire Rome, will activate a series of courses aimed at helping companies improve their production processes thanks to the support of 4.0 technologies. The Region will also provide its own exhibition space within the Fair to showcase the best innovation in our area.
