Italian luxury vehicle manufacturer Maserati has appointed top South African model Genevieve Morton to present its model range in the company’s 2015 brochures and to feature in a worldwide social media campaign.

Morton (26) was born in Benoni, Ekurhuleni, and raised in Scottburgh, on the south-east coast of KwaZulu-Natal. She was the first South African to appear in the renowned US Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, which was shot this year in the Virgin Islands. Morton appeared in the magazine four times previously.

The model recently completed a major photo shoot for Maserati featuring its entire range, including the new Ghibli sports sedan; Maserati’s first E-segment executive saloon, which is due to arrive in South Africa soon; and the luxury flagship Maserati Quattroporte. The manufacturer’s range of luxury vehicles also includes Maserati’s sports cars, the Maserati GranTurismo and the open-top four-seat GranCabrio.

Maserati is using Morton’s campaign to relaunch its global brochure range and marks the arrival of a new corporate image for its leading communication products.

The brochures will be available in hard copy and digital formats. Maserati has also turned to social media, releasing four different behind-the-scenes videos of Morton at work during the shoots. A special set of five pictures of her and key Maserati models will also be available through her social media sites in the coming months.

Morton will bring her two-million Facebook fans, 108 000 Instagram followers and 57 000 Twitter readers to the Maserati social media campaign, joining Maserati’s four-million Facebook followers, 361 000 Instagram fans and 450 000 Twitter followers.
