Clint Brook joined Logico Logistics as Managing Director in February this year. Brook brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with him from both national and international backgrounds. Brook grew up in KZN and joined the industry right after school and has never looked back. Brook’s career took him abroad at the turn of the century where he spent 11 years in both Ireland and England and the returned to South Africa. In his time back in SA Brook has worked in both the transport and FMCG industries but always within the transport sector. Brook explains that spending time on both sides of the fence has afforded him a unique understanding of transport from both perspectives.

Logico Logistics Group, a leading Road Transport Management System (RTMS) registered service provider announced a substantial increase in their fleet on day one of level 3 lockdown.

These trucks were procured as part of their expansion drive, says Brook and were critical to ensure that we are able to meet our customers growing needs and to assist in realizing our vision of ensuring that we are strategically positioned to support our customers with cost effective, service driven and innovative end-to-end solutions.

Despite the prevailing challenges in the local economy, lessons from the pandemic have indicated that the transport and logistics industry remains a key contributor to the economy. Brook is optimistic of the future and notes that he is a strong believer that there is opportunity in chaos and that there is definite strategic growth on the horizon as they look to further increase their fleet, diversify their service offering and grow their customer base.

Logico Logistics has the largest privately owned fleet of Volumax trailers in SA as well as standard tautliner superlink trailers, these form the majority of our fleet and we have abnormal length extendable flatbed trailers which we service the piping industry transporting these critical infrastructure assets to rural communities serving South Africa’s basic needs say Brook. We take great pride in playing our part in SA’s development say Brook. Apart from the linehaul fleet Logico has a substantial secondary distribution fleet which serves as a further value add to our clients, the fleet ranges from 4 to 14 ton rigid tautliners, van bodies and drop side trucks. This fleet operates from JHB and within a 450 km radius.

Brook explains he see’s trying times ahead for all industries within SA, we’ve managed to maintain our entire staff compliment through the lockdown and endeavor to maintain the status quo going forward. Brook explains that he and business partner Bryan Cuff have formulated a strategic growth plan, beside the ailing economy and associated controversy in SA we are optimistic that growth is achievable through first and foremost service delivery and making use of opportunities that present themselves in these trying times. We make data driven decisions and all decisions are therefore objective, one needs to maintain a good balance of risk adversity and optimism nowadays says Brook.
