Local video eventing platform takes off
A South Africa-based start-up company has seen a rapid growth in the demand for its online video eventing services.
The company quickly identified a gap in the market, when Covid-19 restrictions made physical gatherings for conferences, meetings and events impossible.
Founded in March of 2020, Send it includes team members based across South Africa and has focussed on developing three core offerings, namely:
- Interactive webinars
- Live video broadcasts
- Video on-demand
The company explains that it aims to offer a highly flexible, video-first platform that can be tailored to customers’ specific requirements. The technology can be used as a full eventing platform that includes payment, scheduling, chat, live polling and other services, or customers can choose to use only specific individual components.
Since the launch of the company, it has hosted a variety of events, some with over 10 000 concurrent viewers, and with users from all over the world. Its corporate clients include Nivea, Vodacom, MTN and Standard Bank.
The platform has also hosted a range of live shows by a number of independent musicians. The technology allows for the sale of tickets and processing of donations towards specific causes. In addition, the company enables users to host live podcasts on its platform, allowing for real-time live-interaction between listeners and speakers.
Send it has recently launched its new webinar feature and asserts that its offerings will continue to grow, as it envisions online eventing and conferencing to continue well beyond Covid-19.
