Manufacturer of light and compact construction equipment Wacker Neuson South Africa sees the inaugural bauma Africa trade show as a good platform to attract possible distribution partners from across Africa and the company looks forward to taking full advantage of this opportunity, says Wacker Neuson South Africa MD Eugene Brown.

The company will showcase its range of equipment at the trade show, which takes place from September 18 to 21 at Gallagher Convention Centre, in Johannesburg.

The Wacker Neuson group, a global leading specialist with 165 years’ experience in the manufacture of light construction equipment and compact construction machines, with more than 30 subsidiaries and 140 sales and service outlets worldwide, also exhibited at bauma Munich in April this year.

Wacker Neuson South Africa offers a range of concrete consolidation and compaction worksite technologies and excavation and material handling products that fall under the Wacker Neuson group’s product range, together with aftermarket support, to suit a range of applications in sub-Saharan Africa.

The trade show is directed primarily at attendees from sub-Saharan Africa and Brown says the event presents an ideal platform to highlight the company’s range of compact equipment, which includes excavators, skid steer loaders, dumpers and wheel loaders.

“The trade show presents an ideal platform for maximum exposure of the Wacker Neuson product range and services. A large number of visitors are expected to attend the first international trade fair for construction and mining machinery, building material machines, mining machines and construction vehicles on the African continent,” says Brown.

With expected exhibitors exceeding 700 companies, the bauma Africa exhibition space has been expanded from 15 000 m2 to over 60 000 m2. Organisers are predicting that the event will attract great local as well as international interest.

The Wacker Neuson group has 12 000 sales and service partners globally and can trace its roots back to 1848. Wacker Neuson services the construction, gardening, landscaping and agricultural sectors, as well as several municipal bodies and companies in industries such as recycling and energy. It also offers a global spare parts service. In 2012 the group achieved revenue of €1.1-billion and employed over 4 000 people worldwide.
