Advanced automation solutions for every area of process control will go on show at the Africa Automation Fair and Connected Industries conference from 6-8 June 2017 at the Ticketpro Dome in North Riding.

Africa Automation Fair and the Connected Industries conference, to be staged alongside Pollution and Waste Technology Africa, will give stakeholders hands-on access and demonstrations of the latest advanced automation, IIoT and Industrie 4.0 solutions.

Africa Automation Fair, including an exhibition area showcasing the latest international automation solutions, will also feature ongoing talks, product launches and hands-on technology demonstrations at three sponsor and exhibitor theatres throughout the three days of the event. Among the highlights in the Automation Theatres will be talks on Heartbeat technology, online bearing monitoring solutions, networks for critical environments, Industrial IoT, apprenticeships and mentoring, control room architecture considerations and the future of automation.

In addition to the talks and demonstrations, visitors to Africa Automation Fair can look forward to numerous highlights on the exhibition floor. IIoT and Industrie 4.0 focused exhibitors and industry experts will feature alongside the Connected Industries conference, giving visitors a preview of future-proof technologies set to revolutionise the sector. And a new Pollution & Waste Technology Pavilion will extend the reach of the show, covering a vertical that is becoming closely integrated with automation.

Among the exhibitor highlights will be the latest radar solutions from Platinum sponsor Vega Controls SA, which will demonstrate their latest radar technologies, including the new VEGAPULS 64, the world's first radar level sensor for liquids, operating at a frequency of 80 GHz80GHz, and the VEGAPULS WL S 61, Vega's new sensor for measuring levels in the water and wastewater industry.

Opti-Num Solutions, distributor of MathWorks products in Southern Africa, will demonstrate predictive maintenance and data analysis of large data sets using MathWorks products. Opti-Num will also host a staring competition using image processing at their booth, as well as giving Arduino level controller and Raspberry Pi image processing demonstrations.

Elemental Analytics will demonstrate a range of instrument and system components and consumables for measuring water quality, safety, environmental, relative humidity, combustion efficiency and tube gas measurements, including Gyrolok fittings, GO Regulators and Hoke.

Concilium will exhibit at Africa Automation Fair for the first time this year, in line with the shifting focus towards intelligent networks and Internet of Things technologies. Concilium, which has test and measurement solutions to a broad spectrum of industries for decades, will showcase a range of handheld and benchtop tools for general electronic troubleshooting and maintenance. It will also demonstrate Keysight’s 1000 X-Series scopes featuring a 50,000 waveforms/sec update rate, up to 100MHz bandwidth, serial decodes, DVM, optional function generator with Bode plots and a frequency counter. In addition, Concilium will showcase cost effective network infrastructure troubleshooting with Viavi Solutions’ full range of optical and copper network test products.

Vega Controls SA and Pepperl+Fuchs, along with Rockwell Automation, will be the Platinum sponsors of the Connected Industries conference, where Industrie 4.0, its potential and challenges will come under discussion.
