Chinese vehicle importer JAC Motors South Africa has appointed five new dealers, increasing its total number of dealer outlets to 60.

The three new local dealerships are in Cape Town, Bloemfontein and Pietermaritzburg.

The fourth is in Matsapha, eSwatini, followed by a fifth in Windhoek – Jac Motors’ first dealership in Namibia.

"The appointment of the two dealerships in neighbouring countries is an important milestone in our growth strategy,” says JAC Motors South Africa CEO Karl-Heinz Göbel.

“We will keep growing our footprint locally and across our borders to support our customers from all corners of the market.”

Four years ago, JAC Motors started its business with ten dealers across South Africa.

Its dealer footprint had grown to 48 at the beginning of this year and 12 new dealers have been added since.

Over this period, the JAC Motors product offering also grew to include the leisure T6 and T8 double-cab bakkies aimed at the lifestyle market.

The introduction of its N-Series trucks in the local market further contributed to its growth, says Göbel.

"From the time we introduced the JAC Motors brand to the South African motoring public, our biggest priorities have been the extension of our dealer network and the implementation of rigid after-sales service capabilities, including a five-year or 150 000 km manufacturer warranty.”

In July, JAC Motors South Africa also introduced its new N55 EV battery-electric truck.

Recently, courier group DHL signed a 30-unit fleet deal with JAC Motors in Brazil for this electric truck.

"We are excited about the introduction of the new N55 EV,” notes Göbel.

“It is safe, reliable, comfortable and economical, and we believe it will change the commercial landscape as we know it, including the face of our future dealerships.”
