The project will be located in the Snorre and Gullfaks fields, in the Tampen area, in the (northern) North Sea, in Norway.

Project Description
The Hywind Tampen project will be the first floating offshore wind project to supply renewable power for oil and gas installations.
The floating wind farm will comprise 11 wind turbines, which will be connected in a loop by a 2.5-km-long, 66 kV dynamic interarray cable system.
The wind farm will have a total capacity of 88 MW, and is expected to cover about 35% of the yearly power needs on the Snorre A and B, and Gullfaks A, B and C platforms.
The project will reduce emissions from the Gullfaks and Snorre fields by more than 200 000 t/y.

The preliminary capital and development expenditures for the project are estimated at about NKr5-billion.

The project is expected to come on line in 2022.
Latest Developments
The first part of the construction of the Hywind Tampen concrete foundations has been finalised at Aker Solutions’ yard in Stord, Norway.
The 11 floating substructures are being towed to Vindafjord, where the rest of the slip-forming and mechanical outfitting will be completed.
