Hytec Bosch Rexroth has been re-appointed as the authorised ZF Group (ZF) Service Partner for the repair and supply of industrial gearboxes, mobile gearboxes and spare parts across Africa. Originally signed in 2015, this agreement was reinstated at the end of 2020 in Johannesburg. Hytec Bosch Rexroth has over 50 years’ experience repairing and servicing ZF gearboxes and a long history with the company.

Hytec Bosch Rexroth repairs ZF industrial and mobile gearboxes to OEM standards. The repair services comprise the replacement, maintenance, field service, diagnosis and supply of original spare parts. Repaired at the Hytec Bosch Rexroth workshop in Kempton Park, Johannesburg, ZF mobile gearboxes are then tested to OEM specifications. These services are administered by a highly competent and dedicated team of Hytec Bosch Rexroth personnel, who are trained at ZF’s manufacturing plant in Germany. The use of original parts means that ZF is able to offer customers a 12-month warranty on repaired and new units.

“As ZF industrial and mobile gearboxes are often used in hydraulic shovels and processing plants, Hytec Bosch Rexroth services are ideally suited for the mining industry. Although, prospects of wind-energy equipment and stationary mobile industrial gearbox repairs are on the horizon,” explains Ian Kidson, Repairs Manager, Hytec Bosch Rexroth.

During the repair phase, Hytec Bosch Rexroth offers an exchange programme on the hydraulic shovels such as swing gearboxes, pump drive gearboxes (PDT’s) and final drives to reduce customers’ downtime. The company also has a large stockholding of new and re-built ZF mobile gearboxes when a complete replacement is necessary.

Gearboxes from Lohmann & Stolterfoht (L&S), the original ZF gearbox manufacturers, also fall into this service offering from Hytec Bosch Rexroth. This repair and supply of ZF industrial gearboxes, mobile gearboxes and spare parts are available throughout Africa through the extensive Bosch Rexroth South Africa Group of Companies network.
