Cubans reportedly formed queues outside travel agencies in Havana in mid-January as a new law easing exit visa requirements came into effect. Most of Cuba’s 11-million inhabitants can now leave with only a current passport and national identity card. But they are likely to find it difficult to secure visas from wealthier countries, such as the US.
