Atlas Copco’s range of handheld pneumatic breakers and rock drills bear testament to the company’s continuous drive to equip customers with premium-quality, robust and reliable tools that get the construction and demolition jobs done efficiently, cost-effectively and safely.

“There is a suitable tool in our powerful, ergonomic, light-weight, versatile and easy-to-handle pneumatic range for virtually every application,” states David Stanford, Business Line Manager of Portable Products at Atlas Copco’s Power Technique business area.

“It is famously said that a workman is only as good as his tools so we strive to ensure that our handheld pneumatic tools deliver optimal performance irrespective of the job at hand or the condition of the working environment.”

Fabricated to stand the test of time through precise engineering, top-quality materials and eco-friendly engines, Atlas Copco’s pneumatic handheld tools take long-lasting quality to the next level. Atlas Copco’s pneumatic tool range features a Solid Body design that delivers a lower centre of gravity for good balance and easy handling. These one-piece machines have fewer parts which mean that there are less moving components that can wear resulting in improved reliability, extended lifecycle and reduced maintenance time and costs.

The working tools are manufactured from low carbon steel and forged under traditional hammers which allow for beneficial grain flows and enhanced durable strength. All working tools are interchangeable between the different models. With versatility a key focus, customers are able to power several pneumatic tools with a single compressor, thereby delivering the benefit of lowest total cost of ownership.

The two-step SOFTSTART™ trigger on the pneumatic breakers give operators full control enabling them to start a cut with surgical precision even under difficult conditions. An integrated lubricator lessens tool wear and also holds enough lubricant for an entire normal work shift.

The ground-breaking vibro-reduced and standard breaker range delivers unmatched handling in a variety of applications such as light-duty chipping and scaling work, renovation and conversion as well as demolition.

Featuring a rotating air inlet swivel, the light and medium pneumatic breakers are a perfect fit for service jobs and general demolition. Stanford recommends Atlas Copco’s heavy pneumatic breakers for heavy-duty demolition work on material such as asphalt and reinforced concrete.

Delving deeper into the handheld pneumatic tools range, Atlas Copco presents its light, medium and heavy rock drills which feature built-in air flushing for quick, efficient hole cleaning. The light range has a drilling depth of up to a 2m and is ideal for plug hole as well as anchor and wedge drilling. With a maximum drilling capability of up to 6m, the medium and heavy pneumatic rock drills are utilised for blast hole and secondary drilling as well as production drilling in the quarry and dimension stone industry.

Stanford underlines Atlas Copco’s a zero-compromise approach when it comes to operator safety and comfort. “We place operators at the core of our tool design.” The pneumatic tools range encompasses a wear-resistant polyurethane silencer that diminishes noise levels by up to 75%.

The dust collector utilises vacuum technology to efficiently remove dust directly at the source, safeguarding operators from silica dust by maintaining levels below the permissible exposure limit. These tools are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

The pneumatic tools boast a world-class power-to-weight ratio which makes them well-balanced and easy and comfortable to handle. Furthermore, these machines are HAPS™ (Hand and Arm Protection Systems) enabled which lessens the impact of vibrations, making it possible to extend working hours up to six-fold. In order to further shrink vibration and wear, the tools’ piston switches on air-cushions on both ends of the cylinder, almost fully eliminating metal-to-metal contact when working off-load.

Atlas Copco supports its handheld pneumatic tools range with a professional service and after-sales service portfolio that includes high-quality Air Line accessories such as air hoses, hose nipples, couplings, water separators and Air Oil lubricants.

A range of hydraulic and petrol-driven tools rounds off Atlas Copco’s comprehensive superior quality handheld tools portfolio.
