JSE-listed Grindrod says it handled record mineral volumes at its Port and Terminals operations, as well as performed strongly within its coastal shipping and container depot business, in 2021.

The group expects to report a 460% increase in headline earnings to between R603-million and R633-million for 2021, compared with a headline loss of R168-million reported in 2020.

Headline earnings a share will likely be between 89.9c and 94.3c, against a 24.8c headline loss in 2020.

Core headline earnings, which constitute the Port and Terminals, Logistics, Bank and Group operations, will be between R871-million and R901-million for the year, compared with core headline earnings of R333-million in the prior year.

Grindrod will release its results on or about March 3.
