Xylem Africa is delighted to announce the appointment of Gregory Bloom as its Rental Manager. Officially taking the role in May 2020, Bloom has a long and successful track record in the industrial solutions rental space. He now runs Xylem Africa's rental division, providing equipment to our broad family of customers, including the construction, mining, agriculture and infrastructure sectors.

Always focused on finding solutions for his customers, Bloom has been in full-time sales for over 22 years. Process-driven and a prolific supporter of his teams, Bloom finds pleasure in seeing product solutions work for his customers. He is also motivated to be a leader who helps others grow and succeed.

"Working in the rental market has shown me how to work with customers and really listen to their requirements," said Bloom. "We can provide on-demand equipment solutions, helping solve unexpected events at sites, such as flooding of mines, and supporting long-term operations through our OPEX model. With our flexible options, experienced professionals, and range of products and services, we can match our customers' needs and budgets at the same time.”

Bloom heads Xylem Africa's rental division, which provides water solutions to a wide variety of applications. The value proposition of our rental service is summarised by offering our customers the flexibility to change their equipment as site needs change, and to have full control over costs through an OPEX model. We build, maintain and improve our rental products, all included in the rental cost to avoid any unexpected surprises. These factors are complemented by our experts, who conduct site surveys to spec the best pumps for the job at hand.

Entrepreneurial at heart, Bloom has worked in numerous roles across several industries, including automobiles and security. Soon he found his way into sales and became Aquazania's National Operations Manager and Sales Representative. From here, Bloom held key management positions at companies such as Eazi Access Rental, CC Crane Hire, and SkyJacks, with roles including Key Account Manager and Sales Manager. He brings his significant expertise to Xylem, further raising our service levels and deepening the value we offer.

As Xylem Africa's Rental Manager, Bloom supplies services to a broad variety of sectors, catering from light jobs to truly demanding endeavours. His teams can address the needs for mining and quarrying, oil and gas, industrial, marine, construction and municipal. Applications include dewatering, underground drainage, fly ash removal, temporary fire pumps, and sludge removal.

Bloom holds an Advanced Business Management Diploma from Damelin, a Diploma in Project Management from Varsity College, and has completed the Gordon Institute of Business Science's Executive Development Programme and Finance for Non-Financial Managers Programme. An outgoing people person who wants to see everyone win, he is also a proud family man who has two boys with his wife.

"The rental solutions business in our industry is very nuanced, requiring a good ear to listen to customers, as well as the right team and management experience to deliver solutions they need," said Chetan Mistry, Strategy and Marketing Manager for Xylem Africa. "In Gregory, we have a very high degree of understanding and experience for the industrial rental market. He has been bringing his clout to help Xylem support our customers across Africa, bringing real value for them as they manage their water resources."
