Geotech Aviation is a division of Geotech Airborne, an airborne geophysical survey company, which provides full service in helicopter and fixed-wing geophysics. It offers high-end technical services in the fields of active and passive electromagnetism, state-of-the-art gravity, high sensitivity magnetics and the most advanced radiometric systems.

Geotech Aviation operates a worldwide fleet of 16 helicopters and eight fixed-wing aircraft we have active aircraft operational bases with Air Operators Certificates (AOCs) in Canada, Brazil, South Africa and Australia. Geotech’s Africa Base is strategically located about 15 km north-east of O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg and serves as the hub for Geotech’s operations in Africa. Geotech also has an office located in Accra, Ghana from where it services West Africa clientele.

Geotech Aviation South Africa has developed as an experienced aviation company through geophysical operations throughout Africa. We are a certified Aircraft Maintenance Organisation (AMO 1252) and have South African AOCs, domestic and international air service licences. It operates and maintains a fleet of six helicopters and four fixed-wing aircraft within Africa.

With operational experience in over 30 countries in Africa as well as Europe, Middle East, North and South America and Australia, Geotech Aviation can offer clients unmatched aviation solutions in most operating environments.

In-house operational support ensures quality, safety and value as well as allowing it to adjust to meet client requirements with tailor-made solutions, while well-maintained aircraft ensures that the company serves its clients when and where they need it, in divergent climates and terrain. All its pilots have exceptional safety records and extensive experience flying its fleet in challenging conditions.

Geotech management accepts responsibility for providing a safe and healthy working environment that meets or exceeds all relevant legal, regulatory and client requirements. Equally, all personnel are responsible to comply with all policies, procedures and regulations put in place to safeguard themselves, their co-workers, other persons and the environment.

The company states that it has an impeccable health, safety and environmental (HSE) record with no major incidents and no accidents or fatalities. HSE is an important aspect of any of Geotech Aviation’s operations, for both aircraft and field personnel.

To effectively manage HSE, Geotech has developed and implemented an International Civil Aviation Organisation safety management system (SMS) that has been approved by the South African Civil Aviation Authority and has successfully passed various third party audits.

Geotech is committed to proactively implementing its SMS through various actions, so that safety becomes a lifestyle within the company and not just something enforced from time to time.

The day-to-day management of health and safety in the company is done by means of Geotech’s web-based electronic safety management system (E-SMS). The system contains SMS information and both passive and active tools, that allows managers and staff to effectively manage HSE on each project.

Individuals who share the same values and passion in aircraft care and maintenance mould Geotech Aviation AMO 1252. Aircraft care and maintenance is a balance between passion and professionalism. To keep things running smoothly, the company’s Canadian base handles parts and overhauls; the result is faster turnarounds and beneficial costs.
