FLSmidth
Gauteng-based FLSmidth’s Meshcape brand is a leading manufacturer of screening solutions for separating solids, liquids or gases for customers in South Africa and the rest of Africa, as well as in 19 countries on other continents.
Meshcape’s range of engineered consumable products for the processing industry includes perforated materials, polyurethane modular systems, wire conveyor belts, wedge wire, woven-wire mesh and woven-wire screens. The company also manufactures specialised products, including large casings from polyurethane, flotation cell ‘wet end’ parts, as well as wear solutions that include ceramic products ranging from pastes, tiles, monolithic parts and specially made and cast solutions.
On-site process plant surveys are conducted with a view to improving the customer’s return on investment in screening media through optimising maintenance and the servicing of screen media systems.
Established in 1905 to supply the South African mining industry, Meshcape became part of the FLSmidth group in 2012. The 179-employee company’s 16 000 m2 factory in Edenvale, on Gauteng’s East Rand, has ISO 9001 quality management accreditation from Lloyds and expects to have achieved ISO 14001 and OSHA 18001 accreditation by the end of this year.
The company’s major recent contracts involve the supply of engineered consumable products, including screen media panels with ancillary equipment, to a large coal mine in Mozambique and the lining of a hard-rock storage silo with wear-resistant material.
