Flowrox
Finnish-owned company Flowrox is a supplier of flow control and cutoff technologies used in a range of industries, including mining, minerals and metallurgy, energy and the environment, chemicals, pulp and paper, wastewater treatment, cement manufacturing and oil and gas.
The wholly owned local subsidiary of Flowrox is based at the Brentwood business park, in Benoni, on Gauteng’s East Rand, where it has a 1 200 m2 factory featuring machining equipment, plant and product moulds, besides others.
Flowrox’s valves range, which includes pinch valves, knife gate valves and rotary disc valves, is ideal for shutoff and control applications involving abrasive or corrosive slurries, powders or coarse substances in process plants in various industries. The company’s pumps range, comprising peristaltic hose pumps and progressive cavity pumps, is particularly suitable for processes involving industrial pumping, dosing and the accurate metering of abrasive and corrosive slurries, besides other demanding applications.
Established 30 years ago, Flowrox, which employs 146 people worldwide, has a sales network that covers 50 countries. The company complies with the ISO 900:2008 standard.
Flowrox’s recent major contracts include a 44-million knife gate valve deal for the phosphate industry and a 24-million pinch valve deal for the iron-ore industry.
