Germany-based vacuum systems manufacturer Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum has exhibited its energy efficient food- processing vacuum solutions at four renowned exhibitions across Europe this year.

In March, the company attended the CFIA Rennes Expo, in France, as well as the Anuga FoodTec trade fair, in Germany.

The company also exhibited at the Achema 2015 expo, in Frankfurt, Germany, from June 15 to 19 and at the ThermProcess/Metec trade fair, in Dusseldorf, Germany, from June 16 to 20.

Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum supplies the food-processing industry with advanced vacuum solutions for food packaging, baking and freeze drying.

“We have noted that demand for baking and freeze vacuums is gaining momentum, requiring increased focus on fast and energy efficient vacuum solutions that are replacing ageing and high-maintenance equipment at older food processing plants,” highlights the company.

Earlier this year, Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum received a larger order from a Swiss equipment manufacturer, a world leader in food technology that has developed various methods of food processing under vacuum, providing substantial improvements in product and process quality.

Meanwhile, a German coffee manufacturer that produces 20 t of instant coffee powder a day installed Oerlikon’s vacuum pump models at its freeze-drying facility.

The company used modern vacuum pumps that could be integrated into its current freeze drying system, which led to increased energy savings.

“Vacuum technology with modern pump solutions significantly increase a production system’s quality and productivity, highlighting the potential for improvement in terms of production time, infrastructure, human resources, logistics costs, raw materials and energy consumption,” details Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum.

Industry Use
The company says its modern vacuum solutions can be used in a variety of technological applications, such as rough industrial processes like steel degassing, as well as in other industrial high-tech methods, such as the production of displays, as vacuum pumps and systems are a core component of the manufacturing process.

Moreover, the company’s vibration monitoring systems for dry-compression pumps have enormous potential in heat treatment processes.

This year marks 165 years since the establishment of Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum. The company provides its customers with customised service-level agreements and guarantees the availability of service experts, as well as fast response times.
