Automotive corporation and Southern African Bus Operators Association (Saboa) member Daimler Trucks and Buses Southern Africa (DTBSA) exhibited and displayed its retail marketing campaign at the Saboa Conference and Exhibition that was held on July 31 and August 1.

Following the company’s theme of ‘business class at economy prices’, DTBSA exhibited the Mercedes-Benz OF1723 commuter bus, which was presented as affordable while offering comfort, safety and reliability, without compromising on quality.

The commuter bus, which was introduced in 2017, has continued to gain traction in in the transport industry, providing clients with a reliable solution in challenging economic times.

DTBSA bus and coach divisional head Jason Brunninger says exhibiting at the Saboa event is “extremely beneficial” to the providers of transport services and providers of solutions in the bus and coach industry.

“Saboa, through its long-standing involvement in public transport, has become known as the voice of the industry. For DTBSA, as an original-equipment manufacturer (OEM) in the bus and coach industry, as well as for associate members of Saboa, the event is the most prominent and effective platform to really engage and network with current and prospective clients.”

Brunninger adds that the event also provides an opportunity to gain insight into market trends.

Meanwhile, DTBSA made notable technological strides by being an OEM in South Africa to drive innovations for greener technology. This was done using compressed natural gas buses and dual fuel bus rapid transit systems.

With bus and coach chassis being assembled locally and bus bodies being supplied by local suppliers, Mercedes-Benz provides a local platform to upskill dealer service teams.

These advancements and opportunities are made known to potential clients through the Saboa event.
