During tough times in civil engineering – where lack of work is one of the most worrying issues – equipment supplier Civplant Civils and Civtek Limited’s team pulls together even closer to strengthen the relationships that it has established with customers over the last 20 years, states Civplant Civils and Civtek Limited co-owner Don van der Riet.

“We make sure we provide the highest quality work, on time and within budget constraints. The investment in quality equipment, reliable support from suppliers and professional operator training are critical to being able to achieve our goals,” he adds.

As specialist supplier of township infrastructural services and civil engineering, the company has to continually extend its fleet of construction equipment to cope efficiently with a broad range of tasks. These include bulk earthworks; road works; water, stormwater and sewer reticulation as well as commercial and industrial projects.

“In the plant selection process, we need to carefully consider the following critical factors: to match the correct size machine to project requirements, to consider budget constraints and to find a reputable supplier with a proven track record that will provide dependable backup support and an efficient spare parts service.

“Key machines in our fleet are Hyundai excavators, which offer high productivity, fuel efficiency and low maintenance – even in tough working conditions. The latest addition is a Hyundai R300LC-9S excavator, which, since its acquisition in September 2019, has been fully operational in a civils application in Gauteng.”

Construction equipment supplier HPE Africa works closely with Civtek, through the supply of equipment and parts, also providing a maintenance and repair service, to ensure high efficiency of every machine.

HPE Africa’s national workshop facilities are geared to assist customers with modifications of machines where necessary, enabling adaptability for specific tasks. All modifications are customised through close consultation between HPE Africa experts and end-users.

HPE Africa is the sole distributor in Southern Africa for Hyundai Construction Equipment, as well as McCloskey crushing and screening units and Soosan hydraulic hammers and quick couplers. The company supports its product offering with a technical advisory, support and maintenance service throughout Southern Africa.
