Industries demand robust and powerful washing and cleaning solutions that conserve energy and water while also protecting the environment.

Washing and cleaning pumps often operate in harsh conditions which can include humidity and high ambient temperatures. Facilities may also require systems with a compact physical design, allowing a pump and motor to be fitted into a cabinet or mounted onto a cart for mobility and flexibility.  Grundfos South Africa sales engineer in industry water treatment Grant Cannon asserts that the company’s iSOLUTIONS fulfils all the requirements of local industries, while also offering reliable, efficient and safe operations.

He explains that the company’s compact pump design is achieved by using an oversize motor which runs at 6 000 rpm, allowing for use of a smaller pump size, adding that if a similar pressure was required from a conventional pump, the pump itself would be about 1.2 m in height, whereas the Grundfos pump height can be reduced to less than 40 cm.

“In addition to delivering high pressure reliably and efficiently, our solutions are also intelligent so they can be easily integrated into an existing SCADA system,” says Cannon. “The system is closely monitored, intelligently adapting to changing production demands and reducing excessive energy use.”

The monitoring and optimising of performance aims to save energy, water and chemicals, while also generating the required operational data for specific purposes.

The pump solutions are fully assembled and tested before delivery, which means that on-site wiring or programming is not required.
