Dual-listed platinum miner Platinum Group Metals (PTM) has appointed Enoch Godongwana a nonexecutive independent director.

Godongwana obtained an MSc degree in financial economics from the University of London in 1998 and has served in numerous roles in government, trade unions and industry.

He is said to bring “invaluable knowledge of the South African business environment” to PTM’s board.

Godongwana is currently nonexecutive chairperson of the Development Bank of Southern Africa and also serves on the board of packaging and paper multinational Mondi as a nonexecutive.
