Eicher enters the local bus market with new 36-seater
Eicher Trucks and Buses has entered the South African bus market, starting with the 36-seater, Euro 3-compliant Skyline Pro 3009 bus.
“We are pleased to introduce the Eicher Skyline Pro bus series in South Africa,” says VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) Africa international business head Anirvan Banerjee.
“Over the last five years, we have focused on providing a responsive service network of 27 touchpoints, improving parts availability with a new warehouse in Kempton Park, and putting in place well-trained and professional dealership service support teams.
“This new addition of bus series augments our range of Eicher trucks in South Africa.”
VECV South Africa currently offers the Eicher Pro 6000 series and Eicher Pro 2000 series trucks in the local market, ranging from eight-ton to 25-t gross vehicle mass.
Eicher's service network encompasses South Africa, Botswana, Namibia and Mozambique, with plans to add Potchefstroom, Springbok, Kathu, Malelane and Johannesburg (Linbro Park), as well as Gaborone, in Botswana, in the coming months.
VECV is a joint venture between the Volvo Group and India’s Eicher Motors.
