Diesel Electric Services
Since 1993, Diesel Electric Services has specialised in the design, manufacture, delivery, installation, commissioning and maintenance of generator sets, distribution boards, uninterruptible power supply units and associated products. The company’s over 300-strong staff complement at its 23 000 m² premises in Johannesburg includes many of the pioneers of the genset business in this country, guaranteeing a vast amount of knowledge and experience being passed down the ranks and ensuring the company’s long-term commitment to a very demanding market.
“We have fully equipped mechanical, electrical and electronic workshops, and all control panel wiring, fabrication and machining is done in-house, thus allowing planned integration of all components, and in so doing we provide optimum performance, ensuring total control over quality and delivery,” says a company spokesperson.
“Our test-bay facility allows for the comprehensive load testing of all our machines at unity power factor, with load banks rated up to 3 000 kW.
“The South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) has fully type-tested our distribution board design in accordance with SABS/IEC 60439-1:1999. In addition, the bureau has specially type-tested the design to70 kA on both the main and distribution busbars, a first for a local board manufacturer.
“In addition, we are proud of securing Construction Industry Development Board ratings of 8EB and 8EP, which is due to recognition of our total project capability. Diesel Electric Services has been the recipient of the prestigious Frost & Sullivan Award for Competitive, Strategy and Leadership,” concludes the spokesperson
