Deep-South announces results from drilling programme at Haib

TSX-listed Deep-South Resources has recorded the second batch of assay results from its current drilling programme at the Haib copper project in southern Namibia.

Significant copper and molybdenum intersections include 0.46% copper-equivalent grade over 156 m, including 24 m at 0.65% copper equivalent; 0.39% copper equivalent over 74 m, including 6 m at 0.73% copper equivalent; and 0.43% copper equivalent over 26 m, including 4 m at 0.87% copper equivalent.

“We continue to have success with our active drill programme, identifying thick, higher-grade zones. We are consistently intercepting significantly higher grades than the average grade of our National Instrument 43-101 indicated resource that stands at 0.31% copper,” says Deep-South president and CEO Pierre Léveillé.

The higher-grade zone in Pit 2 extends significantly further west and at depth than previously demonstrated, he adds.

“It’s increasingly apparent that the use of vertical drilling in the past missed many of the near-vertical structures contained within the broader mineralisation of the project.

“Those near-vertical structures, so far, are proving to be associated with a higher grade of copper than contained within the current resource. Additionally, the presence of molybdenum has been confirmed with high grades obtained in association with structures and alterations,” acclaims Léveillé.

The three holes for which assay results have been received cover some 684.11 m and were drilled on the central mineralised portion of the deposit to better delineate the extension of this zone to other mineralised areas located to the northwest and southwest.

The holes have successfully encountered intercepts of mineralisation from bedrock or near-bedrock surface.
