The Democratic Alliance (DA) has announced that it will propose a R9.52-billion adjustment to Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan's 2016/17 budget on Tuesday.

In a statement on Monday, the DA said it would propose 399 amendments to fund six proposals, aimed at improving the lives of people in South Africa.

The amendments are aimed at among others creating jobs by allocating an additional R1.2-billion to fund about 180 000 new job opportunities in the Expanded Public Works Programme, according to DA shadow minister of finance David Maynier.
