Corteva Agriscience will be hosting a series of industry dialogues at its stand at NAMPO Harvest Day 2022, one of the largest agricultural exhibitions in the southern hemisphere. Sector experts will explore an array of topics, ranging from herbicide resistance to seed applied technologies, at 12:00 each day, starting from the 17th May until the 20th May, 2022.

Corteva supports farmers’ needs for tools and choice with a full range of crop protection offerings that, in total, protect more than 250 varieties of plants in approximately 140 countries. Corteva  also offers one of the largest portfolios of natural and naturally derived products in the industry such as its fungicide Inatreq™ active and its Spinosad-based, organic-approved insect control.

“Our ultimate goal is to improve a farmer’s overall productivity and environmental outcomes. We can’t wait to share the new additions to our innovative product portfolio with South Africa’s farmers,” says Tony Esmeraldo, Business Director, Corteva Agriscience. “These include PowerCore™ technology, an effective insect control solution for maize farmers; Zorvec® Encantia®, a unique fungicide that specifically targets late blight in potatoes; Pixxaro 266 EC (weed management and control); and Aubaine® 518 SC, which provides pre-plant, pre-emergence or early post-emergence control of wheat crop weeds.

We have also opened an industry-leading Centre for Seed Applied Technologies (CSAT) laboratory in Rosslyn, Pretoria, which will focus on recipe development and safety testing of seed applied solutions. The CSAT lab serves Corteva’s respective seed brands Pannar® and Pioneer®, as well as other industry collaborators, ensuring that farmers across Africa Middle East (AME) have access to high-quality seed and better field performance.”

The company is also helping build sustained resilience through advanced seed breeding, assisting crops in not only withstanding the extreme conditions that threaten food production nationally and worldwide, but also in thriving, ensuring healthy harvests in the face of drought, insects and disease.
